The Life Aquatic

This morning I watched The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. The cast was loaded: Bill Murray, Anjelica Houston, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Willem Defoe, Owen Wilson. Despite the all-star roster I didn't know how I felt about the movie until the end. There were points when I chuckled and points when I thought, "Ok, where is this going?" I really liked the way the movie was produced visually. It looks colorful and whimsical. As for the movie itself, I thought it was just alright. It strikes me as one of those off-beat movies kind of like I Heart Huckabees, but not as far out there as Huckabees. I did not understand that movie. Anyway, I guess The Life Aquatic was pretty good. I'd give it a thumb three-quarters of the way up.
