Overheated Hot Topics

So I'm sitting here trying to force myself to get dressed and ready to run the errands I need to run before class. However, I'm watching The View, which is seriously slowing down the process. I haven't been a big fan of The View since Rosie O'Donnell replaced Meredith Vieira. It's not because I didn't like Rosie, but Meredith served as a moderator and level head on the show. Rosie is so openly opiniated that I don't think she properly filled that role. Rosie and Joy Behar are so far to the left and Elisabeth Hasselbeck is so far to the right that there's no one in the middle to reign them in, since Barbara Walters isn't on everyday.

Anyhoo, a few minutes ago Rosie and Elisabeth got into a really, really, really heated argument. It was...intense. It wasn't one of those staged, "we're just going to disagree for the sake of the show" arguments. You could tell this was real. You could see the awkwardness during the rest of the show. I think it stemmed from some comments Rosie made a few days ago that she felt Elisabeth didn't back her on. Now, I don't agree with the majority of Elisabeth's views, but I do respect that when she voices her opinions she actually has facts to back her up. She also never backs down, no matter what; even this morning when Rosie was literally yelling at her.

It was really riveting and somewhat uncomfortable to watch. Joy and Sherri Shepherd, the guest co-host were clearly unnerved. They both tried changing the subject and Joy even tried getting the directors to go to commercial.

I really hope someone puts this one YouTube soon. If and when they do, I'll post the link here.
